Shopping in the city centre of Arnhem. Arnhem has four major shopping streets, that are connected. They are the Roggestraat, Ketelstraat, Vijzelstraat, Rijnstraat. It's a pedestrian zone and has a length of appr. 1.5 km. On the left and right side of these main streets there are several small streets with little shops and boutiques. Also in the southern part of the city there is a shopping mall, offering free parking, called "Kronenburg". It has a variety of shops, bars and snackshops.
The Living Statues exhibition is one of the great summer attractions for the city, with around 250 competitors from around the world. The event takes place during the last weekend of every August and dates back to 1996. On Saturday the catwalks belong to child performers, while adult actors perform on Sunday afternoon.
Arnhem is also the best starting point for those wanting to enjoy the pristine forests or patches of sand dunes in the Hoge Veluwe National Park (http://www.hogeveluwe.nl/en/14), situated to the north of Arnhem. As the famous Kröller-Müller Museum and the St. Hubertus Hunting Lodge are also inside the park, it provides a great destination for various interests. You can use the bicycles provided free at the gates. Prices: adult - â¬8,20, with the museum â¬16,40.
