North Canterbury is the northern region of the province of Canterbury (http://ecan.govt.nz/) on the South Island of New Zealand.
It is primarily a farming district. It also has a lot to offer the traveller and there are many local ventures orientated to visitors. Most of these are also popular among the locals.
