Shimane prefecture 島根県 Shimane-ken ; (http://www1.pref.shimane.lg.jp/contents/kokusai/kokusai-e/index.html, (http://www.kankou.pref.sh...) is in the western Chugoku region of the main Japanese island Honshu. It is the 2nd least populous prefecture in Japan.
